![]() ![]() Plugs (NGK) were replaced about 3,000 miles ago and also the air filters, which now are K&N.No add on's except for the slip on Yosh Exhaust. Any thoughts or ideas on why this has never happened before until now, and just after I was riding it a week ago fine? acteed quite the same, except VERY loud and VERY hot on the leg.Īny help would be greatly appreciated. Took the bike out again, with the header only to see if there was anything there and maybe force it out. Then I thought maybe one of my kids put something down the exhaust that was causing it to sputter at that RPM, so I took my slip on off where it meets the factory header, put a light and magnet down there to see if maybe my favorite matchbox car I'd find.lol nothing. What I've done: Checked fuel, (bike had approx: 118 miles on this tank) I drained "spyhined" sp? the rest completely out, put fresh 93 octane in, rode it about 10 miles with the same thing happening. Seems to only do it in gear while accelerating. Bike does rev fine with the clutch in or in neutral. I did have it up to 10,000 once in 1st gear, but then it started bogging like every other scenerio. No matter what gear, the bike seems to run flawlessly until I hit approx: 8000rpm's, 1st 2nd 3rd gear, once you hit 8000, it bogs continuously and doesn't want to go higher. I try different scenerio's on the way home. At approx: 8000rpm's, the bike just starts to bog and not want to accelerate more than this. ![]() ![]() So after this I jump on the interstate and speed up. NO problems, shifts fine, idle's fine, runs fine, temp's fine etc. To avoid engine stall during tests required to be run in gear a manual transmission may be shifted to neutral (or the clutch disengaged) when the vehicle. I rode through town, stop and go, between 0 and 45 mph. I ride it everyday it's decent out and not raining. I took it out yesterday for the first time in about a week. That may take awhile to do, the oil may have to come up to temp, so it could take up to 30 minutes.Bikes never had this issue before. Keep revving the throttle as you ride the bike slowly in a safe area away from cars, people and other MC. To fix that, start the bike and ride it around in first gear with the clutch pulled in. If the bike has been sitting for awhile, that is a high probability. The other possibility is the clutch plates are stuck together. If you bleed all the way down through the slave cylinder and still don't get air, you could have an assembly issue. If you cross a point where all of a sudden you loose good lever, that is where the air in the system is. You can do the same test each staep of the way down to the slave cylinder. If the lever gets hard instantly, you have just confirmed you have air in your lines. If you have rubber lines on your hydraulic clutch, you can test the air in the lines theory by wrapping a rag several times around the line then pinch it off with a pair of needle nose pliers. Also to add onto this, the check engine light comes on when the kickstand is up, but when put down, the light turns off. If you still don't have good lever, the slave could be assembled incorrectly or the MC is not up to par anymore. Now, the bike starts when in neutral, idles with the kick stand up or down, but immediately dies when the bike goes into gear no matter what the orientation of the kickstand is. Work your way down to the slave cylinder, bleeding the line at each junction you come to. After the lever hits the grip, tighten it back up and do it again Keep doing that till no air exits the system. Crank it loose no more than 1/4 turn after you pumped the lever a few times. I suggest starting the clutch master cylinder and bleed the MC by cracking the banjo bolt loose the MC. ![]() If it will go into gear with the engine not running and won't go into gear with the engine running, you still have air in your clutch line. And dont put it in gear with the kick stand down t may stall on you gears are generslly 1st down 1 click 2345 and6th all up from there and neutral is 1 half a click up from 1st between 2nd gear. hold on as bike will engage may be jerky balance yourself! when you get moving stop! by pulling the clutch in and the hand brake as you close the throttle to stop! practice your take off many times some where safe! when you get your balance in 1st gear pick up speed and begin shifting the foot gear selector up in to 2nd gear and practice closing the throttle and breaking to a safe stop. in first gear give the throttle on the right hand a squeeze and pull the clutch in with your left hand put foot gear selector down in to 1 st and begin to release clutch slowly. the neutral light will come on sfter the bike enters neutral. You can ride the cluthch on a bike un like a car you wont hurt it its oil lubricated constantly, sitting on the bike pull the clutch in with your left hand and click the left foot lever down in to 1st, then learn how to click it back up 1 half movement in to neutral. ![]()
